QA Manual Tester

Role Description

We’re seeking a skilled QA Manual Tester to ensure the quality and reliability of our e-commerce platforms and AI-based products. You’ll collaborate with developers, designers, and product managers to plan and execute tests, uncover defects, and elevate user experience.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test charters for web and mobile applications.

  • Perform functional, regression, usability, smoke/sanity, and exploratory testing.

  • Identify, document, and track defects using bug-tracking tools; verify fixes and validate releases.

  • Collaborate with engineers and product managers/business analysts to clarify requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.

  • Conduct cross-browser and cross-device compatibility testing.

  • Ensure compliance with e-commerce best practices and accessibility/usability guidelines where applicable.

  • Produce clear, reproducible bug reports with expected/actual results and supporting evidence (logs, screenshots, videos).

  • Maintain test documentation, including checklists, coverage maps, and release validation notes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

  • 2–4 years of manual testing experience, preferably in the e-commerce domain.

  • Strong grasp of software testing methodologies, SDLC/STLC, and defect life cycle.

  • Experience testing web and mobile applications.

  • Proficiency with bug-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla, Trello).

  • Ability to run basic SQL queries for data validation.

  • Experience with API testing (e.g., Postman).

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent written/verbal communication.

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Shopify or other e-commerce platforms and AI-based products.
  • Familiarity with test automation fundamentals (e.g., Selenium, Cypress) and knowing when to recommend automation.
  • Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum ceremonies and artifacts.
  • Exposure to performance testing concepts/tools is a plus.
