Retention Marketing Executive

Job Description:

Title: Retention Marketing Executive 

Department: Growth / Marketing

Reports to: Head of Growth / Marketing Lead

Experience: 2-4 years (eCommerce / D2C CRM or lifecycle marketing)


Role overview:

Customer-facing role, centered on creating CRM strategy and performance for email/SMS with emphasis on lifecycle journeys, segmentation strategy, experimentation, and reporting. The role involves a high degree of thinking on your feet, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring timely delivery across touchpoints


Key responsibilities:

1) Campaign Lifecycle strategy (Flows)

  • Define lifecycle journeys and flow architecture (triggers, timing, exclusions, suppression, guardrails)
  • Prioritise what to build/iterate based on business impact (repeat, conversion, churn reduction)
  • Partner with execution resources to implement and QA

2) Segmentation strategy + platform expertise (KLAVIYO & SUBSCRIPTION softwares like RECHARGE/SKIO)

  • Build a segmentation framework across lifecycle stage, customer value (RFM/LTV), intent signals, affinity, engagement/fatigue
  • Implement segmentation cleanly in Klaviyo (event/property logic, dynamic updates, exclusions/suppression)
  • Enable scalable personalization (conditional content/dynamic blocks)

3) Marketing Analytics

  • Own weekly/monthly CRM reporting with insights, providing actionable insights based on data
  • Ensure event tracking and data quality with Tech/Analytics (view, cart, checkout, purchase, etc.)
  • Flow impact: conversion lift, repeat purchase movement, win back effectiveness
  • Engagement health: CTR/CTOR trends, unsubscribe/complaint rate (trend-based)

Must-have

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Klaviyo (flows, segments, templates, reporting/attribution basics) AND Subscription software like Recharge/Skio (churn prevention, etc.)
  • Knowledge of eCommerce platforms like Shopify
  • Strong campaign planning & analytics (RFM/Cohort, etc.)
  • Stakeholder management and crisp communication

Good-to-have

  • HTML/CSS basics for templates
  • Shopify/GA4 familiarity
  • SMS strategy experience
